FIVE BEST VIEWPOINTS OF KOH TAO TO ENJOY A SUNSET

Koh Tao is about the sea but not only. You can enjoy many other activities on the island and one of them is the viewpoints. For this reason, we want to show you the five best viewpoints on the island, so you can enjoy amazing sunsets with your favorite drink and relax a bit far away from the sand.

The geography of the island makes viewpoints very appealing for both visitors and locals. Koh Tao is quite small and has few hills, so it’s perfect to climb up one of those hills to enjoy the surroundings and the blue sea with a cocktail in your hand. Be ready to embrace nature and see the best five viewpoints at Koh Tao.

JOHN–SUWAN VIEWPOINT

John-Suwan viewpoint is located at the South of the island, between the popular Freedom Beach and Shark Bay. So after doing some snorkeling or relaxing at the beach, you can come there to enjoy the sunset from a different perspective. It’s not easy to get there and we recommend to use comfy footwear. The outstanding view is worth the rocky path to arrive there.

HOW TO GET TO JOHN-SUWAN VIEWPOINT

You just need to take the main road towards Chalok and pass the famous Freedom Beach. Between this beach and Shark Bay, you’ll find a hill where the viewpoint is located.

Entrance fee = 50 baht.

MANGO VIEWPOINT

Located on the way to Aow Muang ( Mango Bay), from the Mango Viewpoint you can enjoy a stunning view of the whole of Sairee Beach and Mae Haad Bay through to the South.   The viewpoint is probably one of the preferred ones from locals. The downside is that it’s not that easy to get there as the road is quite steep.

HOW TO GET TO MANGO VIEWPOINT

As we said before, it’s not that easy to get there. You will need to take the main road towards Sairee and turn right at the 7/11, following the direction of Ao Hing Wong. After Koh Tao Gym, you’ll need to turn left and follow the directions towards Mango Bay. Before arriving at the bay, you’ll see the viewpoint.
